About Me
My name is Marcus White and I want to open my world to you let you know a little bit about me. I am a travel enthusiast at heart who has a desire to help people in need in Latin America and around the world.
I am originally from Portland, Oregon. My love for travel started when I was young, and my family went on vacation across the U.S. and to the Caribbean islands on two separate occasions.
Those trips had planted a seed in my heart about travel. I never thought much about travel until I was much older. I had come to the realization that I wanted to do much more traveling than what I had done in the past.
Not only was I traveling during the summer months at that time with my family, but I was also learning Spanish while I was in the seventh and eighth grades.
The Spanish classes opened my eyes to the Latin culture. Our textbooks showed photos of people in the parks feeding the pigeons and relaxing.
I was amazed at how the culture appeared to be relaxed and not moving at a fast pace. That was just the impression that I had about the Latin culture during that time.
It was not until years later that I had decided to act on the desire to visit Latin America for the first time.
During my trips and visits to places like Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia I had discovered a whole new world that I had never known before.
It is through those trips that I have decided to create a blog to share with others about my experiences. I have laid out the basics of what life was like when I had moved to Colombia in July of 2022.
It is my desire to let people see what day-to-day living is really like in Colombia. One thing is for sure, Colombia is filled with the realities of life, as well as adventures of living in every form and expression of the word.
If we never meet in America, one thing is certainly for sure —
